Strategic Director - Strategy & Change

Location: Ealing | Rate: £800 per day (Umbrella) negotiable | Working style: Hybrid

Contract: Interim / Senior Leadership

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional, forward‑thinking Strategic Director for Strategy & Change to drive organisational transformation, cultural development and strategic improvement across Ealing.

You will partner with the Chief Executive and the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) to lead key corporate services central to driving change - including Customer Services, Transformation, Engagement, Digital Services, HR & OD, Performance & Intelligence, Communications and Equalities.

The Role - Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop corporate strategy, ensuring resources and activity align with organisational priorities.

Lead transformation and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Champion equalities, diversity and inclusion across the organisation.

Drive high‑quality policy development, corporate planning and performance reporting.

Lead innovative approaches to resident engagement, communications and partnership working.

Act as the 'Accountable Person' under the Building Safety Act 2022 for relevant services/properties.

Ensure decision‑making is informed by robust data, customer insight and evidence.

Service & Resource Management

Lead internal and external consultation on major service changes.

Oversee customer contact performance, ensuring high standards and swift resolution.

Manage a significant budget (£9m revenue plus approximately £10m annual investment).

Identify commercial opportunities, income generation and external funding.

Lead complex multi‑disciplinary programmes and produce strategic reports for senior stakeholders.

People Leadership

Inspire, guide and motivate teams to deliver excellence.

Strengthen workforce capability through effective HR & OD leadership.

Build strong working relationships with elected members and senior partners.

Model organisational values through visible, credible and inclusive leadership.

What You'll Bring

Extensive experience in strategic leadership, transformation and organisational change.

Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills at senior levels.

Strong background in corporate strategy, performance frameworks and cultural change.

Highly developed analytical and critical‑thinking ability.

Proven experience managing large budgets and ensuring value for money.

Resilience, integrity and the ability to inspire trust.
