Multiskilled Operative (Joiner) – Nottingham

We’re recruiting for a Multiskilled Operative to support the Housing Services team at Nottingham City Council. This is a full-time role covering sickness leave, working across council homes to carry out joinery, maintenance and multi-trade repairs.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for joinery and carpentry work, along with basic plumbing tasks such as second fixing sinks, removing and refitting toilets and basins. You’ll handle planned and reactive repairs, maintain high standards of workmanship and use digital devices to record completed tasks.

Key duties

• Joinery and carpentry repairs, installations and maintenance

• Plumbing tasks including fitting basins, sinks, toilets and related fixtures

• General multi-trade work (plastering, minor repairs, basic brickwork)

• Fault finding and assessing repair needs

• Working safely and professionally in occupied and void properties

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Advanced Craft in Joinery

• Proven joinery and carpentry experience

• Basic plumbing skills

• xjnqpsq Full UK driving licence

• ECS Health & Safety card

• Able to use digital work systems

Contract information

• £20.48 per hour (umbrella)

• 37 hours per week, 8am to 4pm

• Inside IR35

• Contract- 3 months with a chance of extension
