Interim Procurement Business Partner

Description

Wolverhampton City Council are seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Business Partner to lead the delivery of procurement activity across its Corporate Services category portfolio.

In this influential role, you will provide strategic procurement support across areas such as HR, Finance, Legal, and Professional Services, ensuring compliant, value-driven procurement outcomes. You will also lead and develop a team of four procurement professionals, driving performance, capability and continuous improvement across the function.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead procurement projects and category strategies across the Corporate Services portfolio.

* Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver commercial and procurement objectives.

* Manage complex tendering and contract management activities.

* Provide procurement advice in line with Public Contract Regulations and Council policies.

* Line manage, mentor and develop a team of four procurement staff.

* Identify opportunities for efficiencies, savings and service improvements.

About You

* Proven public sector procurement experience, ideally within local government.

* Strong knowledge of procurement legislation and best practice.

* Experience leading complex procurements across Corporate Services categories.

* Previous line management and team leadership experience. xjnqpsq

* MCIPS qualified or working towards qualification is desirable.

* Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
