Description

Insight are supporting an NHS organisation in Yorkshire to appoint a Fire Safety Advisor (General and Capital) on an interim basis for 6 months. This post can be a temp to permanent opportunity, with the permanent salary being between £47,810 - £54,710.

The post holder will be overseeing the general management of the Fire Safety team within the Trust, and liaising with Capital Project Managers to influence on design, procurement and risk mitigation.

Main duties:

* Lead and deliver all responsibilities of the Fire Safety Advisor role in line with HTM 05-01 (Managing Healthcare Fire Safety) and subsequent updates, providing authoritative fire engineering, risk assessment and compliance leadership.

* Provide strategic, expert advice to the Trust Board, Executive Directors and senior leadership on adherence to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and associated statutory requirements.

* Interpret, implement and assure compliance with all relevant fire safety legislation, statutory instruments, Department of Health HTM Firecode guidance, Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and British Standards, ensuring best practice across all estates and engineering services.

* Plan, prioritise and oversee complex workloads for self and the fire safety team, ensuring a consistently fire-safe environment for patients, visitors, staff and contractors across multiple sites.

* Serve as the central point of contact for all fire safety matters, providing high-level expert guidance to divisional managers, clinical teams and external stakeholders.

* Ensure sustained compliance with statutory requirements and Trust policies by developing and implementing robust governance frameworks, performance metrics and continuous improvement processes

The ideal candidate will:

* Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing fire safety in large and complex premises (e.g. hospitals, universities, multi-occupancy buildings).

* Experience of working across organisational boundaries to improve fire safety standards and compliance.

* In-depth understanding of: Fire safety principles and practices o Fire risk management frameworks Fire safety legislation and codes of practice

* Strong working knowledge of: Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, HTM 05-01 Firecode and related Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs)

* Experience providing fire safety input into Minor works, Capital projects and Major capital development schemes.
