Despatch Operative

Description

Starting ASAP, our client, a manufacturer of high–quality products based in Prenton, Birkenhead has an immediate requirement for a Despatch Operative for their despatch department.

This role is offered on a contract basis and on completion of the initial 12 weeks of training, permanent employment is guaranteed.

The successful candidate will work a minimum of 40 hours each week, with overtime available.

The standard working hours on this shift are 7 am to 3:30 pm from Monday to Friday each week. You will start work on an hourly pay rate of 12.93 p/h, which will rise on completion of training.

Overtime is paid at 19.40 p/h after 40 hours, increasing to 25.86 p/h after 50 hours.

Payments are made weekly by BACS and on a PAYE basis, which includes holiday pay and pension contribution.

Further benefits on completion of 12 weeks include a back pay rebate, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, uniform and safety boots provided, death in service benefit and a 1% annual attendance bonus.

The role within the despatch team will involve picking the correct items from the production department which will then be loaded onto each vehicle by hand to be delivered on time and in line with customer requirements.

The successful candidate must have a good level of physical fitness due to the heavy lifting involved. It may suit someone that plays rugby or enjoys weightlifting or keeping fit. Having your own safety footwear is essential.
