Description

Compliance Assurance Officer

Adecco are recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority for a Compliance Assurance Officer to join their Housing Asset Management team based in Ealing. This is a key role supporting the council's statutory landlord compliance obligations across a range of health and safety work streams.

Contract Details:

Type: Temporary

Pay: £23.05 per hour (PAYE) / £30.71 per hour (Umbrella)

Location: Perceval House, Ealing

Working Arrangements: Hybrid - 2 days per week from home

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Purpose of the Role

Ensure the council meets its statutory landlord compliance obligations in areas including gas safety, water safety, asbestos, electrical safety, fire safety and lift/LOLER requirements. Support the delivery of a high-quality, robust compliance service and provide assurance that all statutory obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and report on compliance performance across all statutory work streams

Ensure all properties remain compliant for gas, water, asbestos, electrical, fire safety and lift/LOLER

Maintain the compliance register and certification within asset databases and relevant systems

Oversee third-party assurance processes and manage auditing contractors

Verify quality of completed works through post-inspections and spot checks

Liaise with external contractors and consultants regarding quality assurance and health and safety audits

Carry out computerised and manual administration across compliance systems

Support asset management leadership with reporting on servicing programmes and compliance plans

Ensure contractors comply with health and safety legislation and council procedures

Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards

Build effective working relationships with internal teams, residents and external stakeholders

Key Skills

Experience and knowledge of current housing-related compliance legislation (e.g. fire safety, gas safety, asbestos, electrical)

Experience of administration for contract management and performance-led activities within the compliance sector

Excellent numeracy and IT skills
