Job Title: Bus Road Test Driver

Location: Ballymena, County Antrim

Duration: 6+ months

Pay Rate: 14.70 per hour + overtime

Start Date: ASAP

We are currently seeking experienced and reliable Bus Road Test Drivers to join a leading vehicle manufacturing facility in Ballymena.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers holding a Category D licence to play a key role in the testing and quality assurance of new vehicles before they enter service.

Working with a range of diesel, electric (EV) and hydrogen–powered buses, you will be responsible for carrying out road tests, identifying defects and ensuring vehicles meet the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct road tests on newly manufactured buses.

Assess vehicle performance, including steering, handling, braking, suspension and ride quality.

Identify, record and report faults, defects or quality issues.

Support vehicle preparation, including refuelling and charging activities where required.

Ensure all vehicles meet operational and safety standards prior to customer delivery.

Complete inspection documentation accurately and professionally.

Requirements:

Valid Category D (CAT D) Driving Licence.

Full UK driving licence.

Strong awareness of vehicle safety and road regulations.

Excellent attention to detail and reporting skills.

Comfortable driving a range of vehicle types in varying road and weather conditions.

Previous experience in bus driving, vehicle testing, automotive, manufacturing, or quality inspection environments would be advantageous.

Working Hours & Benefits:

Monday to Thursday

7:00am – 5:00pm

Overtime available

Long–term contract (6+ months)
