Temporary Area Planning Manager

Location: Shropshire | Hours: 37 per week | Contract: 6 months. | Up to £500.00 per day via Umbrella | Hybrid role.

We are currently seeking an experienced Area Planning Manager for a temporary cover assignment within a busy Development Management service within a Local Authority.

This is a senior role responsible for leading an area-based planning team, overseeing complex planning applications and providing professional advice to senior officers, Members, applicants and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage a team of professional planning officers.

* Oversee complex and major planning applications.

* Lead on planning committee reports and presentations.

* Provide senior professional planning advice.

* Deputise for the Planning & Development Services Manager when required.

* Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

* Ensure planning decisions are delivered efficiently, consistently and in accordance with legislation and policy.

About You

You will be an experienced planning professional with strong Development Management and team leadership experience. You will have excellent knowledge of planning legislation and policy, experience dealing with complex applications, and the confidence to provide authoritative advice and present to planning committees. xjnqpsq
