Aircraft Fitter (Contract – Outside IR35)

Location: Isle of Wight

Rate: Up to 40 per hour (Outside IR35)

Contract Length: Until March 2026

Join a legendary name in British aviation! Our client, a renowned aircraft manufacturer based in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, is bringing full aircraft production of its iconic Islander aircraft back to the UK. As part of their ongoing expansion and drive to increase manufacturing output, they are seeking experienced Aircraft Fitters to join their skilled team on a contract basis.

The Role

As an Aircraft Fitter, you will be involved in the assembly, installation, and fitting of aircraft structures and components, ensuring all work meets stringent aerospace quality and safety standards. This is a hands–on role within a growing production facility, contributing directly to the build of the Islander aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out fitting and assembly tasks on aircraft structures and systems

Work from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions

Use appropriate hand and power tools safely and efficiently

Ensure work is completed to the highest quality standards and within set timescales

Liaise with production engineers and quality teams to resolve issues

Requirements

Proven experience as an aircraft fitter or similar role within aerospace manufacturing

Strong understanding of aircraft assembly processes and quality standards

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Must be eligible to work in the UK

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
