Description

Handyman / Joiner - Self-Employed

Location: Hull and surrounding areas

Hours: 20 hours per week, plus overtime

Rate: Dependent on experience

Contract: Self-Employed

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Handyman / Joiner to carry out repairs and maintenance to residential properties across Hull and the surrounding area.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working independently and can turn their hand to a range of property repairs and maintenance work.

You should also have a good understanding of the building regulations and standards relevant to social housing and Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).

The role

Your work will include:

General property repairs and maintenanceJoinery repairsRepairs to doors and windowsBasic painting and decoratingIdentifying faults and carrying out practical repairsWorking in occupied residential properties, including social housing and HMOsEnsuring work is completed safely, tidily and to a good standardCarrying out work in line with relevant building regulations and property standards
The ideal candidate

You will need:

Previous experience in a handyman, joinery or property maintenance roleGood practical joinery and general repair skillsKnowledge of building regulations and standards relating to social housing and HMOsA full UK driving licenceYour own vehicle initially - a company van will be provided in due courseYour own basic toolsA reliable and flexible approach to workFlexibility to work additional hours/overtime when requiredGood communication skills and a professional manner when working in customers' homes
Previous experience working with Local Authorities, social housing providers or HMO properties would be particularly beneficial.

Above all, we're looking for someone dependable who takes pride in their work and understands the standards required when carrying out repairs and maintenance in residential properties.
