Description
Reluctant sale of my inherited campervan - due to lack of opportunities to use it to its full adventuring potential!
My uncle bought the base vehicle from Japan in Dec 2017, with all original paperwork and certificates of mileage verification. On importation to the UK, it was registered in 2018, with conversion by Poplar Motors in Chesterfield. The original vehicle is a 2.4l petrol hybrid automatic - drives like a car, good top-end, and yet economical on fuel. Comfy beige upholstery and carpets to front seats, with matching curtains all the way round the main cabin and back windows.
Conversion included the rock'n'roll bed (others will say it sleeps two, I say it’s a very generous single!), pop-top roof, side conversion with storage, dimmable interior lighting, leisure battery and electric hook up, double burner hob with gas bottle underneath, sink with water pump and waste water egress, vinyl floor, removable table and an upgraded air heater for the main cabin.
My uncle had the vehicle for 6 years; only put about 7,000 kms (4,300 miles) on it, yet had it serviced regularly, invested in Michelin tyres all round, a new Kenwood DAB audio system.
Since taking the vehicle on, I've replaced the 12v battery, and three cells of the main hybrid battery, as well as new discs and pads all round, to ensure there are plenty of happy miles in this vehicle. I've made bed boards for the pop-top roof, and comfortably slept up there myself. Again, others say it will sleep two up top…. Meh! I've also invested in a fitted front wrap for the windscreen and front windows, so the cabin is completely dark and private when sleeping. Vehicle will come with 15m electric cables for hook-up, water storage containers, Ready-Bed with electric pump, and a Halfords trickle-charger to keep the 12v batteries in tip-top condition when the vehicle isn't being used for a period of time.
The vehicle was undersealed in Japan, and the exterior condition and underside shows the fact it spent half its life in a country that doesn't salt it's roads! The vehicle is parked under a car port now, and apart from a few minor bodywork marks, this vehicle is in very tidy condition for its age. Only negatives are; I haven't spent out on the solar panel and fridge I was intending to; so it only comes with a large coolbox at this time. Passed it's MOT - with no advisories - in August. Interim serviced 15/11/25.
I've put another 8,000 kms on the clock (5,000 miles) in the last 18 months, and the current 146,000 km will go up a little as I do keep her running with a commute every couple of weeks. But it's not a justifiable use for this great camper - someone with more time and adventures in mind needs to take her on!
Please, no canvassers, scammers or wheel-kicking time wasters…. Life is too short!
