Description
This is a TentBox Cargo I, a premium hard-shell, durable rooftop tent.
It is VERY quick to set up and opens in only 30 seconds, assisted by the gas struts. Closing down takes a little longer, maybe 60 seconds, which includes tucking away the side panels to make the tent entirely weatherproof. Quality padlocks are include, which lock the securing clasps to
prevent any casual interference when the vehicle is left unattended.
The TentBox is solidly built, having steel-reinforced
honeycomb aluminium panels, decent storm-proof canvas,
taped seams and waterproof zips. It’s well-ventilated and
cozy, with vents to reduce condensation, roof lining for
insulation and a decent high-density mattress. Under the
mattress is a mesh mat and ventilation labyrinth channels in the floor ensure there’s no problems with condensation or mould.
All openings have mesh net panels which can be fully zipped up or rolled up for that “open-air experience”.
Security nuts are included, which require a special key to
undo (provided) - like the special, nuts on alloy car-wheels - and are intended to make the mountings more secure
Also included are special roof-bars. These fit into the side-rails of the roof and can be used to mount such things as bicycles, paddle-boards etc.. We mounted a small top-box and found it easy enough to raise the roof with the box fitted, provided it wasn’t filled with heavy items.
The side rails of either the base or the roof can also be used for mounting other accessories - we have eyelets(included) which can be used for drying lines, awning supports or simply tying down items.
Access to the tent is via a wide-rung telescopic ladder (provided) which mounts into spring-loaded brackets which can be fitted to either side or to the rear of the base.
