About the Role

Empowering Learning are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Wigan to recruit a dedicated and resilient Youth Worker. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people, particularly those who may face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, promoting positive behaviour and engagement

Build strong, trusting relationships with children who may require additional emotional support

Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Help manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches

Encourage pupils' personal, social, and emotional developmentThe Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school, youth work, or support setting

Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
