Year 6 Primary Teaching Assistant - Wendover

A Primary School based In Wendover is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Year 6 Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. The successful candidate will initially support across the Year 6 classes until the October half term, with the opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain further experience within a school environment and get a real feel for what a school is like before making a longer-term commitment.

The role will involve supporting across three Year 6 classes, working closely with class teachers and other support staff to ensure that all pupils have access to a high-quality learning experience.

You will support pupils both academically and socially, working with individuals, small groups and the wider class where required. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to build positive relationships with children.

Previous experience of working with young people in a school setting would be advantageous, although experienced Teaching Assistants and graduates are welcome to apply. Experience supporting children with SEN and strong behaviour management skills would be particularly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a range of duties, including:

Supporting across the three Year 6 classes and working closely with class teachers.

Supporting pupils with their learning through whole-class, small-group and 1:1 activities.

Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs where required.

Providing consistent and effective behaviour management.

Helping to maintain a calm, positive and stimulating learning environment.

Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging positive behaviour.

Providing encouragement and support to pupils to help them achieve their potential.

Providing feedback to teachers regarding pupil progress, behaviour and engagement. xjnqpsq

Assisting with general classroom and administrative duties, such as photocopying and filing.Summary
