Position: Key Stage 2 Teacher (Year 5)

Location: South Ribble, Lancashire

Start Date: September 2026

Duration: Full-time (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £150 - £210 per day

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in South Ribble. This is a full-time maternity cover position starting in September 2026. The school is looking for someone who can confidently lead a Year 5 class and provide continuity during this important stage of learning.

The Role

As the Year 5 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in developing pupils' independence, resilience, and academic progress as they prepare for Year 6.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to Year 5 learners.

Assessing pupil progress and implementing targeted interventions where needed.

Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and participation.

Working collaboratively with the KS2 team and support staff.

Maintaining clear and effective communication with parents and carers.The School

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience desirable).

Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment strategies.

Excellent classroom management and a nurturing teaching approach.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
