Aspire People are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 5 student who has ASD and ADHD. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting this child in staying on task and engaging with their learning in a way that meets their individual needs.

About the Role:

Support with social and emotional regulation, helping the child build confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the child remains on task and follows instructions throughout lessons.

Provide tailored support, ensuring the child's individual learning needs are met.

Manage any challenging behaviour in a positive, calm, and firm manner.

Communicate regularly with the class teacher and other staff members to track progress.

Support the child in building strong social skills and positive relationships with peers.

What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children with ASD and ADHD (either in a school setting or through other support roles).

Patience, empathy, and understanding of how to work effectively with children who need extra support.

A firm but nurturing approach, with the ability to manage behaviour in a positive, proactive way.

Strong communication skills, able to work effectively as part of a team and liaise with parents and staff.

Ideally, previous experience in a similar role or qualification in SEN support (but not essential).
