Are you passionate about working with children and looking to start a career in education but don’t believe you have the right qualifications?

Teaching Personnel is looking for motivated and enthusiastic Unqualified Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated and supportive team in Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to gain experience in a school environment, with potential for training and career progression.

We have positions tailored to your availability. If that be working Monday – Friday or a couple days a week.

8:30am – 3:30pm

Term Time Only

September start

Key Responsibilities:

Support the teacher with lesson preparation, classroom setup, and resource organisation.

Assist pupils in their learning, individually or in small groups.

Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.

Support children with additional needs, adapting tasks when necessary.

Supervise pupils during break times, trips, and transitions.

Prepare materials, display, and carry out basic admin tasks.

Report any safeguarding concerns and promote pupil well-being.

Participate in training and contribute to the school community.

A successful educator will have the following:

Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people

Being reliable, proactive, and patient

Show good communication and interpersonal skills

Be willing to learn and take direction from teaching staff

Experience working with children

Desired experience:

Experience working with children or young people (e.g. babysitting, volunteering, youth groups, summer camps).

Familiarity with a school or educational setting (through work experience or volunteering).

Understanding of basic child development and behaviour management.

Experience supporting individuals with additional or special needs (preferred but not essential).

Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
