Therapy Assistant

Salary: Competitive

Our client is a distinct independent boarding school dedicated to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment for students with specific learning difficulties. Their passionate team collaborates closely to create tailored educational and therapeutic programs that empower each student to thrive academically and emotionally.

They are seeking a dedicated Therapy Assistant to join their supportive therapy team, responsible for implementing and supporting students' educational and therapy programmes. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential in a diverse and dynamic educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Work alongside the Head of Learning Support and Therapists to prepare and deliver intervention sessions for individuals and small groups of students.Conduct assessments and monitor students’ progress, providing feedback in collaboration with Therapists and teaching staff.Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students, adjusting learning activities to meet individual needs.Assist with the planning and delivery of study skills sessions while maintaining accurate records of student progress and achievements.Build positive relationships with students, parents, and other professionals while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with students and their families.Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.Commitment to promoting the independence and wellbeing of students, with a proactive and positive attitude.Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child protection procedures in an educational context.Empathy and patience when supporting students with additional learning needs or neurodiversity.Willingness to engage in professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
