Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full–time, Monday to Friday

Reeson Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work in a vibrant and supportive Primary based in the Portsmouth area. This full–time, long–term role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is motivated, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with a wide range of needs.

The successful Teaching Assistant will ideally be Team Teach trained (within the last 2 years) and confident supporting pupils who present with additional challenges such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs, SLD, and trauma–related difficulties. However, for the right candidate, we are able to offer high–quality Team Teach training, providing an excellent opportunity to gain this valuable qualification.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing structure, encouragement, and tailored support to help pupils progress both socially and academically.

Teaching Assistant Role Information:

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

Provide one–to–one and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needsUse Team Teach strategies (or willingness to learn) to help regulate behaviour and maintain a safe learning environmentWork collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement personalised strategiesSupport children in regulating behaviour, building confidence, and engaging in learningEncourage positive social and emotional developmentAdapt to a fast–paced and varied environment while maintaining a calm, consistent approachTeaching Assistant Requirements:

Team Teach trained (preferred) or willingness to complete training provided by usPrevious experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirableStrong behaviour management skills with a nurturing and patient approachAbility to adapt quickly, use initiative, and remain resilient under pressureEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)A genuine passion for supporting children to reach their potentialThis is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who thrives in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
