Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Bristol (South)

Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

Pay: 110 per day

Contract Type: Temporary with potential for long–term opportunities

Hours: School hours (ad hoc, part–time and full–time opportunities available)

About the Role

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive primary school in Bristol. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a classroom setting.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of lessons, assist pupils with their learning, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activitiesAssisting pupils on a one–to–one basis or in small groupsHelping to prepare classroom resources and learning materialsSupporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional needs (SEND/SEMH)Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environmentPromoting pupils' confidence, independence, and engagementSupporting classroom organisation and daily routinesAssisting during break times, transitions, and school activitiesWorking collaboratively with teaching staff and support teamsUpholding safeguarding, welfare, and child protection procedures at all times

Requirements

Experience working with children or young people (school–based experience desirable)A positive, proactive, and supportive approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to build positive relationships with pupils and staffAn enhanced DBS on the update service (child workforce), or willingness to applyRight to work in the UK
