Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support - Nursery)

Location: Primary School, Chesterfield

Hours: 12:30pm - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (15 hours per week)

Start Date: ASAP

A welcoming primary school in Chesterfield is seeking a caring and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a nursery-aged child with special educational needs.

This rewarding role will involve working closely with a young pupil who has low language skills and requires support with personal care. You will play a key part in helping the child access learning through play, while also developing their attention, listening, and early communication skills in a nurturing and supportive environment.

The Role:

Providing 1:1 support for a nursery child with additional needs

Supporting personal care needs with dignity and sensitivity

Encouraging learning through structured and child-led play

Helping develop attention, listening, and early communication skills

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans

Creating a safe, positive and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience supporting young children with special educational needs is essential

Experience working in Early Years or Nursery settings is highly desirable

Confident supporting children with low language and communication needs

Calm, patient, xjnqpsq and nurturing approach

Able to build strong, trusting relationships with young children

Comfortable providing personal care as required

A strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practiceThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about Early Years SEN support and looking to make a real difference in a child's early development.
