Teaching Assistant

Location: Manchester M3

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: £13.69-£15.87 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday, full-time

Contract: Long-Term, Full-Time

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Manchester, supporting KS1 pupils with complex needs. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a Teaching Assistant passionate about making a real difference for pupils with ASD, non-verbal communication needs, SEMH challenges, and sensory difficulties.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide both in-class support and 1:1 intervention, helping pupils engage with learning, develop skills, and reach their potential. The ideal Teaching Assistant is patient, adaptable, and experienced in working with children with additional needs.

Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support for pupils as a Teaching Assistant

Support pupils with ASD, non-verbal communication, SEMH, and sensory needs

Assist in-class learning as a Teaching Assistant

Work closely with teachers and staff to implement strategies and interventions

Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment as a Teaching Assistant

Observe and report on pupil progress to teachers and SLT

Promote independence, confidence, and social skills

Adapt learning approaches to meet individual needs

Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning activities as a Teaching Assistant

Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times

Teaching Assistant - Requirements:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in KS1 or similar

Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, ASD, SEMH, and sensory requirements

Patient, calm, and adaptable

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning desirable but not essential

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
