Primary Teacher Assistant Job description:

We are currently seeking enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to work across our partnered schools within the Derby area on a supply basis.

You will be supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and helping children achieve their full potential. You will provide small group and one-to-one support, assist with classroom management, and contribute to creating a positive learning environment. The role offers valuable experience for those considering teacher training in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with the delivery of lessons

• Provide targeted one-to-one and small group interventions

• Help monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessments

• Encourage positive behaviour and active engagement in learning

• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources

Requirements

• Experience supporting pupils in a primary school

• Strong literacy and numeracy skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• A proactive, supportive and professional approach

• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification is desirable
