Expectations of a teaching assistant

Assisting classroom activities with students Making sure students focus on the assignments given by a permanent member of staff/department at the school Facilitating the completion of low level tasks by clearly conveying instructions to the students Ensuring that all necessary materials for the lesson are prepared and accessible as a teaching assistant Maintaining student conduct during lessons to foster a supportive learning atmosphere Gathering finished teaching assistant assignments at the end of the session and submitting them to the relevant person at the school Requirements of teaching assistant

Degree equivalent, minimum 2:2 grade Great time–keeping, can arrive to school on time, self–assured, well–organised, and tactful Willing to undertake online teaching assistant training Teaching assistant positions provide an excellent chance for those seeking to build teaching experience Whether or not you are pursuing a PGCE.
