Description
Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? We’re looking for a confident and proactive People Advisor to join our People Team and provide dedicated support across designated business units.
This is a generalist role where you’ll balance operational delivery with a focus on creating a great employee experience. You’ll manage your own employee relations and HR casework, while partnering with a dedicated People Partner on more complex matters and people projects.
What you'll be doing:
As the first line of People support for your designated business units you will:
Build strong relationships with managers and team leads, understanding their operational needs and offering pragmatic people solutions that align with business goals.
Advise on policies, procedures, and people processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
Own and manage a range of ER cases (sickness absence, performance, probation, disciplinary, grievance, etc.), ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
Draft correspondence and meeting notes, ensuring compliance with internal policy and UK employment law.
Partner with the People Partner on complex or high-risk cases when needed.
Manage core HR processes (excluding onboarding/vetting).
Maintain accurate records within the HRIS.
Collaboration & Projects:
Work closely with the People Coordinator to ensure contracts and HR letters are issued accurately and on time.
Partner with the Onboarding Team to ensure smooth handovers at offer stage and beyond.
Support wider people projects such as process improvements, policy updates, and manager training.
Identify trends or process bottlenecks within your business unit and propose practical improvements.
What you’ll bring
Essential:
Proven experience in a generalist HR / People Operations role, ideally within a fast-paced or matrixed organisation.
Confident managing HR casework independently, with solid knowledge of UK employment law.
Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
Discretion, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
Desirable:
Experience using HRIS systems (Cascade preferred).
CIPD Level 5 (or working towards).
