Teaching Assistant

Are you a graduate who wants a hands-on Teaching Assistant role before applying for teacher training?

Could you provide focused 1:1 academic support that helps a Year 4 pupil make rapid progress?

*** Teaching Assistant

*** Immediate start until July 2026

*** £81 - £101 per day

*** ‘Outstanding’ primary school, Ward of Yardley

*** 1:1 academic support for a child in Year 4

You’ll provide daily 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil, reinforcing class learning and closing gaps in reading, writing and maths. You’ll break tasks into manageable steps, prepare simple resources, and keep concise notes on progress to inform next steps. You’ll promote positive routines, build confidence, and help the pupil develop independence.

You’re a graduate who communicates clearly, follows guidance well, and brings a calm, organised approach. You can build rapport quickly, keep expectations consistent, and stay focused on measurable progress.

Requirements

Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.

Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.

Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine commitment to inclusion and pupil progress.

Experience working with children – Relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
