Contract: 6 months (with potential for extension)

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school located in the heart of Preston. This is a 6-month opportunity to make a real difference - supporting both individual pupils on a 1:1 basis and providing general class support as part of a collaborative teaching team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs (e.g., SEN, SEMH, or learning delays), helping them engage with learning and social development.

Assist the class teacher in the delivery of lessons, preparing resources and adapting materials where necessary.

Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils.

Support group activities, classroom management, and behaviour strategies.

Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals when needed.

Offer pastoral support, helping children build confidence and independence.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar.

Experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis, especially those with additional needs (desired but not essential).

A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.

Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one).

Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification preferred (but experience also valued).

What We Offer:

A chance to work in a friendly, inclusive school in central Preston.

A fulfilling role where no two days are the same.

The opportunity to develop skills and build a career in education.

Ongoing support from school leadership and external training providers
