Location: Dorking, Surrey

Contract: Permanent, Full-time, Term-time only

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annum (DOE, term-time only)

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join the school on a permanent basis providing pastoral support. You will play a vital role supporting pupils outside of lessons, helping them to regulate their emotions, re-engage positively, and return to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 pastoral support to pupils with Autism and SEMH needs

Build trusted, supportive relationships to promote emotional regulation and wellbeing

Work proactively with pupils who are disengaged, supporting reintegration back into class

Assist in delivering interventions and strategies that promote resilience and confidence

Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistent supportRequirements:

Experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs (school, youth work, or care settings considered)

Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy

Ability to support de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies

A passion for helping young people overcome barriers to education
