We are currently working with a special needs provisions across Sheffield and looking for SEND Teaching Assistants for Sept 2025!! As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will be supporting pupils with a range of complex needs and disabilities.

Job Specification

Assist pupils with physical disabilities and complex medical needs

To provide quality support to the class teacher and other teaching assistants

Be willing to work on a 121 basis and small groups

Be willing to provide personal/intimate care to students aged 2-19

Support students with their social and emotional development

Monitor and record the progress of the students and provide feedback to the class teacher and parents when required

Assist in creating visual aids, resources and learning materials to enhance the learning experience for each student

Provide positive reinforcement for students and encourage their development

Person specification

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar setting or have a strong care background

Has good communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively

Is patient empathetic and able to build strong working relationships with students and other members of staff

Has the ability to work as part of a team and also independently when required
