SEND Teaching Assistants wanted

Location: Blackley, M9 area

Starting Date: September start

Salary: £106 per day and up depending on experience

Make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs whilst developing your skills in a supportive and specialised Secondary setting. We are seeking dedicated staff to join our SEND school in Blackley, working with pupils aged 12-18 with a variety of learning disabilities.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with a wide range of learning disabilities, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex needs.

Work closely with teaching staff to deliver adapted lessons and creative learning activities that meet individual needs.

Assist with developing communication, social interaction, and life skills using approaches such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory play.

Support pupils with daily routines and transitions to create a consistent and structured environment.

Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing atmosphere where children can thrive and develop confidence.

Provide personal care support where required to ensure holistic care for pupils.

Requirements:

Prior experience in care, support work or similar.

Familiarity with SEND needs and support.

Ability to motivate and engage pupils through personalised strategies.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong resilience and adaptability in handling challenging behaviours.
