Teaching Assistant (KS2)

Location: Alnwick, Northumberland

Salary: £14.24-15.50 per hour

Humly are currently recruiting on behalf of an inclusive and forward-thinking primary school who are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support for two Key Stage 2 students. This role is specifically designed to assist pupils with additional needs, primarily ADHD, helping them navigate the curriculum and manage their school day effectively.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with these students to ensure they remain engaged and motivated. Responsibilities include:

* Delivering Interventions: Leading small-group or 1:1 sessions focused on literacy, numeracy, and social skills.

* Emotional Regulation: Identifying triggers and providing immediate support when students feel overwhelmed or distracted.

* Break-out Support: Facilitating "brain breaks" and supervised time outside the classroom to help students reset and return to learning.

* Collaboration: Working alongside the Class Teacher and SENCo to track progress and implement individualised learning plans.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone with a calm, patient, and proactive approach. Experience supporting children with ADHD or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is highly desirable. The candidate should be adept at building strong relationships and possess the ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
