Job DescriptionNew Chapter Tuition is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Wellbeing & Academic Tutor to support vulnerable learners aged 11-16 across Wandsworth who are unable to fully access mainstream education.

This role focuses on supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs, building confidence, developing positive relationships, and boosting academic attainment and engagement. You will work 1:1 with learners who may experience anxiety, ADHD, behavioural challenges, or school avoidance, using a relationship-based and trauma-informed approach.

You will deliver personalised support in community-based settings including learners' homes, libraries, learning hubs, and alternative provisions.

Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver 1:1 academic and wellbeing support to students aged 11-16 with SEN and SEMH needsPlan and adapt personalised learning programmes to meet individual academic, emotional, and behavioural needsBuild strong, trusting relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and engagementSupport learners with emotional regulation, motivation, and self-esteemUse creative and flexible approaches to re-engage disengaged studentsMonitor progress in attainment, attendance, and wellbeingProvide clear feedback to families, schools, and professionalsPerson SpecificationWe are looking for tutors who are passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and able to work independently in community-based settings.
