Speech and Language Teaching Assistant Specialist Dudley

Location: Dudley

Working Pattern: Full-time, 5 days per week

Age Range: 5-16 years

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Teaching Assistant Specialist to join a supportive educational team in Dudley.

The successful candidate will work closely with children and young people aged 516 who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and a range of additional communication and learning needs.

The Role

You will provide targeted support to pupils with speech, language and communication needs, helping them to develop their communication skills, confidence and independence within the school environment.

You will work with children who may be:

Pre-verbal or non-speaking

Experiencing selective mutism

Presenting with speech and language difficulties

Working towards individual EHCP outcomes

Requiring personalised communication strategies and additional support

You will work alongside teachers, SEN staff, speech and language professionals and other specialists to ensure pupils receive consistent and appropriate support.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced xjnqpsq in supporting children with speech, language and communication needs

Confident working with children aged 516

Understanding and patient when supporting pre-verbal and non-speaking children

Knowledgeable about selective mutism or willing to develop their understanding

Familiar with EHCPs and individualised learning plans

Able to build strong, trusting relationships with children

Calm, compassionate
