Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant

Location: Burton-on-Trent (DE11)

Pay Rate: £100 - £125 per day

Contract: Temp to Perm

Start Date: ASAP

Long Term Futures is seeking a passionate and resilient Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant to join an alternative provision in Burton-on-Trent (DE11), supporting pupils across both primary and secondary settings.

This role involves working with learners who face significant barriers to education, particularly those with behavioural needs and difficulties engaging in mainstream school environments. You will play a vital role in providing both academic and emotional support within a structured, nurturing setting, helping students re-engage with learning and develop key life and employability skills.

This opportunity is ideal for someone patient, proactive, and committed to making a genuine difference in young people's lives.

The Role

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs across an all-through setting (ages 4-16)

Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment

Support pupils' academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver personalised learning plans

Contribute to behaviour management and therapeutic support strategiesAbout You

Experience supporting pupils with additional needs across primary and/or secondary settings

Strong behaviour management skills and ability to build positive relationships

Calm, patient, and adaptable approach

Passion for supporting young people both academically and personally

Willingness to contribute to the wider school community

Able to attend a pre-interview meeting via Microsoft Teams

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
