Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We're currently recruiting for a compassionate and proactive Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive specialist school in the Robertsbridge area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant who thrives in a nurturing environment and is committed to supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, social-emotional difficulties, and learning disabilities.

Role: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Robertsbridge, East Sussex

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)

Start date: ASAP or after October half term

Contract type: Long-term with potential for permanent placementKey Responsibilities:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis

Assisting with daily classroom activities and adapted learning plans

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff

Providing personal care, where requiredRequirements:

To be successful as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you should have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

Strong communication skills

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
