Description

About the school

This specialist SEN school for students aged 11–19 with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is committed to preparing young people for life beyond education. The school provides a broad academic foundation enriched by tailored interventions, therapeutic support, and, for some, access to a residential "waking day" curriculum. Emotional well being is prioritised alongside learning, with a strong focus on enabling students to become confident, independent, and aspirational young adults. Close collaboration with families and a dedicated team of specialist staff underpin the school's mission to support lifelong learning, community contribution, and personal growth.

The Role:

We are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to:

Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver and adapt Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Support pupils one–to–one or in small groups, fostering learning and independence.

Assist with classroom management and create a calm, supportive environment.

Prepare tailored resources and support communication and social skills development.

Build meaningful relationships with students, staff, therapists, and families.

What You Bring:

Experience working with young people in SEN settings–or a strong passion for special education.

Patience, empathy, flexibility, and strong communication skills.

A collaborative mindset and readiness to contribute to a supportive, inclusive team.

Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).

YOU MUST BE A DRIVER

Term Time Teachers are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants will be subject to a full face–to–face registration and an Enhanced DBS (Formerly known as CRB)
