We are seeking an experienced and passionate SENCO to lead and develop inclusive practice across the Academy. You will work closely with the Academy Leadership Team to ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice (2014), promote high aspirations for students with SEND, and deliver high–quality provision that enables all learners to make strong progress. This is a key strategic role, combining leadership, teaching excellence, and collaboration with staff, families, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee SEND provision across the Academy, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and Academy policy. Maintain accurate identification, assessment, tracking, and reporting of students with SEND, including an up–to–date SEND Profile. Embed Quality First Teaching and effective differentiation across the Academy, acting as a role model in your own practice. Develop and manage the Academy SEND Offer, including targeted interventions and deployment of staff and resources. Provide SEND–focused professional development for staff and contribute to whole–school improvement. Track and report on the progress of students with SEND, including termly reports to the Governing Body. Work closely with parents, governors, and external stakeholders to support student outcomes. What We Are Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a good undergraduate degree. SEN experience within a secondary school setting. Evidence of successful teaching and pastoral experience. Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current national priorities. Evidence of relevant CPD for the SENCO role, or willingness to undertake SENCO training. A strong understanding of quality assurance, curriculum development, and student motivation. Experience of working effectively with parents, governors, and other key stakeholders. Commitment to inclusive practice and raising achievement for students with SEND.
