Severe SEN Tutor (Specialist Home–Based Support)

Hampshire Are Needed.

We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and highly experienced Severe SEN Tutor to provide specialist one–to–one support for students with complex additional needs in their homes. This role is suited to someone with a strong background in supporting children and young people with severe learning difficulties and complex behavioural, communication, or sensory needs.

Role Responsibilities

Deliver personalised and engaging one–to–one sessions tailored to each student's individual needs and abilitiesSupport students with severe and complex SEN, including ASD, PMLD, SLD, SEMH, ADHD, non–verbal communication needs, and challenging behavioursWork in line with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), implementing targets and specialist strategiesAdapt teaching methods, communication styles, and resources to meet sensory and emotional needsBuild positive, trusting relationships with students and familiesEncourage engagement, confidence, independence, and emotional regulationProvide progress updates and session feedback where requiredDeliver face–to–face support within students' homesRequirements

Minimum 2 years' experience working with children or young people with severe or complex SENExperience supporting students with EHCPs is essentialStrong understanding of behaviour management, emotional regulation, and differentiated learning approachesConfident managing challenging behaviours and working independentlyComfortable working in home environments on a one–to–one basisFull UK driving licence and access to transport preferredFlexible availability during school hoursMinimum commitment of 10 hours per weekDesirable QualificationsPGCE and/or QTSTeam Teach, MAPA, or other behaviour support trainingSEN specialist qualifications or relevant therapeutic trainingExperience working within specialist schools, alternative provisions, or outreach servicesAdditional
