We are excited to be recruiting for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stechford, Birmingham, supporting children within the school's dedicated resource base.

About the role:

Full-time position, Monday to Friday

Working within the school's specialist resource base

Providing tailored support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Supporting pupils both academically and socially to help them access learning successfully

Working closely with teachers, SEND professionals, and the wider inclusion team

Helping to create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment

What we're looking for:

We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs. You will have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping every child achieve success.

You will:

Have recent experience supporting children with SEND within a school, specialist setting, or resource base

Have a strong understanding of additional needs, including Autism, Speech and Language Needs, and Learning Difficulties

Be confident supporting pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups

Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with children

Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience in your approach

Work effectively alongside teachers, SENDCOs, therapists, and support staff

Be confident implementing support strategies and interventions

Have strong behaviour management and communication skills

Be committed, reliable, and flexible

Ideally be local to the area or able to travel easilyExperience supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) would be advantageous, but is not essential.
