Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £100 - £115 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist Secondary SEMH school and Alternative Provision based in Stoke-on-Trent. The setting provides a supportive and nurturing environment for students who require additional emotional and behavioural support, with a strong focus on engagement, resilience and helping young people achieve both academically and personally.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be supporting students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4 with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and barriers to learning, while helping to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs

A calm, patient and nurturing approach

Strong behaviour management skills

Experience supporting students within a secondary school or Alternative Provision setting

Excellent communication and relationship building skills

A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential
