Location: Selly Oak, Birmingham, B29

Weekly Pay Rate: £460 - £500

Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Start Date: 05/01/2026

Contract: Long-Term, Temp to PermAre you an experienced SEND Specialist with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

A welcoming primary school in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham is seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their SEN Hub, supporting pupils with Autism, non-verbal communication and SEMH needs.

This is a rewarding, hands-on role within a well-established team, ideal for someone confident supporting children with complex profiles who need patience, structure, and emotional support throughout the school day.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support within the SEN Hub

* Support children with Autism (including non-verbal pupils) and SEMH needs

* Use visual aids, PECS or Makaton (where appropriate) to support communication

* Promote self-regulation and positive behaviour strategies

* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external specialists

What We're Looking For:

* A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent relevant qualification

* Previous experience supporting children with ASD, non-verbal needs and/or SEMH (essential)

* A calm, resilient and nurturing approach to behaviour and communication challenges

* Confident using communication tools and de-escalation techniques

* A team player who values consistency and routine
