Job Title: SEN Tutor St Helens

Location: St Helens (community-based or in-home sessions)

Pay Rate: GBP25 per hour (starting rate)

Job Type: Part-Time | Flexible Hours

About the Role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Tutor to work with students in the St Helens area, starting in March 2026. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and can adapt their teaching style to meet the individual requirements of each student, helping them achieve their academic potential in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions for students with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning disabilities, etc.), tailoring the content to suit each learners needs.

Adapt teaching strategies and materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for each student.

Support students in building confidence, enhancing subject knowledge, and developing key life and academic skills.

Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to parents, carers, or professionals involved in the students care and development.

Create personalized learning plans, ensuring that individual goals and support needs are met effectively.

Essential Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience working with students with SEN.

Right to work in the UK.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.

Desirable Qualifications

QTS or PGCE in Special Education or related field.

Experience working with students with a variety of SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH).

Additional Information

Sessions typically take place during school hours, with some after-school or evening opportunities.
