Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Barnet, North London.

The school is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASD), ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs and complex needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or someone with a relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification looking to develop a long-term career within specialist education.

The position offers a long-term or permanent opportunity, with the school keen to find someone who can become a valued and consistent member of its support team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support throughout the school day

Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities and complex needs

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities

Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development

Follow individual EHCPs, learning plans and behaviour support strategies

Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning

Use visual timetables, structured routines and alternative communication strategies

Work closely with teachers, therapists and other SEN professionals

Support pupils with personal care or mobility needs where required

Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environmentIdeal Candidate Will Have:

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN/SEND

Experience working with Autism, learning difficulties or complex needs

Understanding of EHCPs and individualised learning support

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

A calm, patient and resilient approach

Confidence working within a specialist SEN school

A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in special educational needsLocation & Transport - Barnet, North London
