Are you a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant who is experienced working very closely with SEN children in the Burton area looking for a flexible role within a supportive SEN school environment?

We are seeking an patient and reliable Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development across welcoming and well-established primary schools.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping pupils build their confidence, develop key skills, and to give overall support with their highly complex needs .We offer flexible opportunities tailored to your preferences, whether you're looking to work five days a week or just one. As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

-Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with highly complex additional needs.

-Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create a calm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

-Assisting pupils with varying abilities and learning needs, including those requiring additional support

-Helping to prepare classroom resources and learning activities to enhance pupil engagement

-Working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and other school staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils

-Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development, helping them to build confidence and reach their full potential

-Assisting with playground duties, school activities, and other responsibilities as required by the school

The ideal candidate would have:

-Recent experience supporting children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis.

-A relevant Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable).

-Experience supporting children with complex needs.

-Previous experience delivering medical care is advantageous but not essential.

-Confidence working independently whilst also being an effective member of a wider classroom team.

-A patient, caring and flexible approach.

-Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

-An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
