SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hillingdon, West London (UB4)
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Hillingdon (UB4) is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
The successful candidate will work within the school’s dedicated SEN classroom, supporting small groups of pupils with additional needs. You will play an important role in helping pupils access learning, develop their independence, manage sensory needs, and make progress through targeted interventions and personalised support.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support small groups of pupils with SEN within a dedicated SEN classroom
* Provide targeted support to help pupils access the curriculum and develop key skills
* Deliver and support targeted interventions based on individual pupil needs
* Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
* Assist with sensory activities and sensory regulation strategies
* Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs
* Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
* Support pupils with their individual learning and development targets
* Help create a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider SEN team
* Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to teachers
* Support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day
* Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a UK school setting
* Experience working with small groups or pupils with additional needs
* A minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Early Years, or equivalent (e.g. CACHE, NVQ or Diploma)
* Experience delivering xjnqpsq or supporting targeted interventions
* An understanding of sensory needs and strategies to support sensory regulation
* A patient, calm and nurturing approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* A flexible and adaptable approach to supporting different needs
* A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them reach their potential
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply via Uniform Education
