SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (KS2) – Hemel Hempstead
Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Start Date: September | Full-Time
Salary: £87 – £110 per day
Supply Desk is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Hemel Hempstead. This rewarding opportunity involves providing tailored 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with additional learning needs, helping them to thrive both academically and socially within a supportive mainstream environment.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider inclusion team, you will provide personalised support that enables the pupil to fully participate in classroom activities while developing key learning, communication, and social skills.
What You'll Do
Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the individual needs of a Key Stage 2 pupil throughout the school day
Adapt classroom tasks and learning resources to help the pupil access the curriculum successfully
Implement strategies that support concentration, organisation, and emotional wellbeing
Encourage participation in classroom discussions, group work, and wider school activities
Help develop the pupil's confidence, independence, and positive relationships with peers
Liaise with teaching staff and the SENCO to review progress and contribute to individual support plans
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where the pupil feels safe, motivated, and supported
About You
Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting
Previous experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or additional learning needs is desirable but not essential
Patient, adaptable, and committed to helping every child reach their potential
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new strategies to support individual needs
