Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Northumberland

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £90 - £100 per day

These settings are committed to creating nurturing learning environments where children with additional needs are supported both academically and emotionally to encourage confidence, independence and personal development.

The schools are looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on both day-to-day and long-term bases. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be supporting pupils of mixed ages with a range of additional needs including ASD, SEMH and learning difficulties, requiring flexibility, strong communication skills and the ability to adapt support strategies to suit individual learning needs.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND

• A caring, patient and adaptable approach

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills

• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH or learning difficulties

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

• A proactive and ‘can-do’ attitude
