SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Newham, London

Contract Type: Full–time

Start Date: Immediate

We are looking to appoint a dedicated, compassionate, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive secondary school in Newham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You will collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to deliver tailored support both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one–to–one and small group support for students with SENAssist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)Support students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficultiesHelp manage behaviour in line with the school's policiesPromote inclusion and independence among studentsLiaise with teaching staff and external professionals where required

The Ideal Candidate

Has experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs (desirable but not essential)Is patient, empathetic, and resilientHas strong communication and interpersonal skillsIs adaptable and able to respond to individual student needsIs committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
