TeacherActive are delighted to be working with a welcoming Primary School in Saltley who are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Reception with Autism.

This is a full-time, long-term position, offering vital consistency and stability for the pupil. You’ll be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored, nurturing support that enables the child to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Your Role Will Include:

Providing 1:1 support for a Reception-aged child with Autism

Assisting with learning activities, communication and social interaction

Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and parents to track progress

Creating a safe, encouraging and inclusive learning environment

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience working with children with Autism or other additional needs

Can follow guidance from teaching staff and adapt support where needed

Demonstrates patience, empathy and a genuine passion for helping children succeed

Builds trusting relationships with pupils and staff alike

Is reliable, proactive and enthusiastic about supporting early learning
