SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Uxbridge, West London

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Start Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with manual handling training? Do you want to support children and young people with complex physical and learning needs in a safe, nurturing environment?

Uniform Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Uxbridge. The school provides tailored education for pupils with a range of needs, including PMLD, SLD, and physical disabilities.

About the Role:

As a SEN TA, you will:

* Support pupils with learning, communication, and independence on a 1:1 and small group basis

* Safely assist with mobility and personal care, using manual handling techniques and equipment

* Work with teachers to deliver adapted lessons and sensory-based activities

* Encourage social interaction, confidence, and emotional wellbeing

* Use strategies such as visual supports, Makaton, or AAC systems where appropriate

* Collaborate with staff, therapists, and families to meet EHCP targets

* Ensure pupils are supported in a safe, structured, and inclusive environment

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience supporting children or young people with complex learning and physical needs

* Manual handling training (essential) and confidence supporting personal care

* Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting SEN pupils

* Knowledge of Autism, PMLD, or SLD is desirable

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
